Windies’ gratitude to BCB continues: Sylhet to host Bangladesh cricket ‘A’s series against West Indies ‘A’

The West Indies ‘A’ team is coming to Bangladesh next May. The Caribbean Youth team will play three four-day matches against the Tiger Youth on the tour. Bangladesh cricket ‘A’ team is preparing for the upcoming series.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the final schedule on Monday night. Out of the three matches, two matches will be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium and the other will be played at the Sylhet Outer Stadium.

The Caribbean team will enter Bangladesh on May 11 to play a three-match series. The first four-day match will start from May 16 to 19 in Sylhet.

After this, the second four-day match will be held at the Sylhet Outer Stadium from May 23 to 26. The last match of the white outfit will be played on May 30. After this, after the tour, the Indies ‘A’ team will leave Bangladesh on June 3.

Match Schedule:

1st Test: 16-19 May 2023

2nd Test: May 23-26, 2023

3rd Test: May 30-June 2, 2023

Bangladesh A team previously toured the West Indies in August 2022 for a two-match test series and a three-match ODI series.

 Where both of the two test matches between the teams were drawn. And while West Indies won the first match of the three-match ODI series by four wickets to lead the series, Bangladesh cricket team came back to win the series by 44 runs in the second match, but the third and final ODI match of the series was abandoned due to rain, thus the series was declared between the two teams.

West Indies tours of Bangladesh have not been very pleasant in recent times. The senior team lost the series against the Bangladesh cricket team a few months ago now let’s see how their junior team performs. It remains to be seen how competitive the match between the two teams will be at Sylhet’s sporting wicket.
