Mritunjoy Chowdhury is the only new face in the Bangladesh cricket team for the Ireland series. His opportunity to join the team arose as a result of Taskin Ahmed’s injury. However, it remains to be seen if he will have the chance to play towards the end. However, getting the opportunity to practice for the Bangladesh cricket team seems to be the biggest achievement of the left-handed pacer.
Today, the Bangladesh cricket team commenced a three-day training camp behind closed doors in Sylhet, in preparation for their upcoming series against Ireland. Notably absent from the camp are Mustafizur Rahman and Liton Das, who are currently in India participating in the IPL, as well as Shakib Al Hasan, who is currently on vacation.
While talking to reporters there today, Mrityunjay expressed the feeling of practicing for the Bangladesh cricket team like this, ‘It can be said to be a thrilling moment for me. Senior cricketers were not practiced like this from within the team. It is a big achievement. Liked it too. I can learn something new. As such, the day went well.

Mrityunjoy expressed his intentions regarding personal goals by stating, “I shall strive to exert my utmost efforts.” Something good might come from doing that. The player’s performance is not entirely within their control, as it requires hard work and genuine interest. If Allah writes it down, something good will happen, Insha Allah.’
Chelmsford, England has been selected as the venue for the upcoming Bangladesh cricket series against Ireland. To prepare for the matches, Bangladesh cricket head coach Chandika Hathurusinghe has opted for Sylhet as the training camp location. Hathurusinghe’s decision was based on the similarity of the wickets in Sylhet to those in Chelmsford, as well as the hot weather conditions in Dhaka. Talking about what happened on the first day of practice, Mrityunjoy said, ‘The practice that took place, in match conditions – how to play the first 10 overs, how to play at the end. Accordingly, the batsman has batted as per the plan. An attempt has been made to adapt to the atmosphere of today’s match.
According to a 21-year-old pacer, the training camp in Sylhet will be beneficial for the team as both England’s and Sylhet’s pitches are known for their bounce. I practiced today, there was a bounce. So it will help. It is not possible to have a wicket like England, whatever has been done will serve well in the future.
