Early Life

Ebadot Hossain was born into a Sylheti Muslim family to parents Nizamuddin Chowdhury and Samia Begum. In 2012, Ebadot joined the Bangladesh Air Force as a volleyball player, showing his early inclination towards sports.

It was in 2016 when Ebadot’s life took a pivotal turn. He attended a pacer hunt competition supervised by Aaqib Javed, conducted by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Impressed by Ebadot’s talent, Aaqib selected him for BCB’s High-Performance program.

Domestic Career

Ebadot’s cricketing journey started at the domestic level. He made his first-class debut for Sylhet Division in the 2016–17 National Cricket League, and this marked the beginning of his impressive career. His List A debut came for Mohammedan Sporting Club in the 2016–17 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.

In the T20 format, Ebadot made his debut for Rangpur Riders in the 2017–18 Bangladesh Premier League, showcasing his versatility as a cricketer.

Ebadot’s domestic journey continued with distinctions, and he emerged as the leading wicket-taker for Central Zone in the 2017–18 Bangladesh Cricket League, securing thirteen dismissals in just six matches.

International Stardom

 In February 2019, he was added to Bangladesh’s Test squad for their series against New Zealand.

Ebadot’s Test career continued to flourish. In January 2022, he achieved a significant milestone by taking his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket against New Zealand at Bay Oval. He took 6 wickets and gave just 46 runs and played an important role in Test win against New Zealand. For this fantastic performance, he got the Man of the Match.

Ebadot has also made his mark in the One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) formats. He made his ODI debut in August 2022 against Zimbabwe and his T20I debut in September 2022 against Sri Lanka.

 As he continues to shine on both domestic and international fronts, cricket enthusiasts eagerly anticipate more outstanding performances from the ‘Sylhet Rocket’ of Bangladesh.
