Domestic Career
Hasan Mahmud’s cricketing journey started at the domestic level. He made his first-class debut for Chittagong Division in the 2017–18 National Cricket League on October 13, 2017.
In List A cricket, Hasan made his debut for Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity in the 2017–18 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League on February 5, 2018.
Stepping into the T20 Arena
In November 2019, Hasan Mahmud’s talent earned him a spot in the Dhaka Platoon for the 2019–20 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). He made his Twenty20 debut for Dhaka Platoon on December 12, 2019, marking his entry into the fast-paced world of T20 cricket.
International Career
In December 2017, he was selected in Bangladesh’s squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
In November 2019, Hasan Mahmud was named in Bangladesh’s squad for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup and the men’s cricket tournament at the 2019 South Asian Games.
His talent was further recognized when he was named in Bangladesh’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against Pakistan in January 2020. Just a couple of months later, in March 2020, Hasan made his T20I debut for Bangladesh against Zimbabwe.
In January 2021, he was named in Bangladesh’s One Day International (ODI) squad for their series against the West Indies, making his ODI debut on January 20, 2021. Hasan’s consistent performances earned him a spot in Bangladesh’s Test squad.
The year 2023 proved to be significant in Hasan Mahmud’s career as he was named in Bangladesh’s ODI squad for their home series against Ireland. During the third ODI of the series on March 23, 2023, Hasan achieved a milestone by taking his maiden five-wicket haul in international cricket.
