Three Bangladesh Matches Rescheduled

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that the sale of tickets for the 50-over Men’s World Cup will begin on 25 August. The schedule, usually announced a year before the event’s start, was released only in June. Three of Bangladesh’s matches in upcoming world cup have been rescheduled, including the India vs Pakistan match. Bangladesh’s fixture against England has been rescheduled from a day-night match to a day match and a 10:30 AM (local time) start.

The Tigers’ game against New Zealand has been moved from a day match to a day-night contest. The double-header scheduled for November 12 – Australia vs Bangladesh in Pune and England vs Pakistan in Kolkata – has been played on November 11. The Cricket Association of Bengal had raised concerns about holding a match on the same day as the Hindu festival of Kali Puja.

The original schedule of India and Pakistan was 15 October, and the venue was Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. It has been moved a day earlier and will now be played at the same venue on Saturday, 14 October. It is a rumour that there is no place left in any hotels in Ahmedabad, bookings have already been done, even fans are booking hospitals to stay there. Now they will have to rebook.

Pakistan’s contest against Sri Lanka in Hyderabad has been preponed two days. Earlier it was going to be held on Thursday, 12 October and now it is rescheduled for Tuesday, 10 October. Australia’s big match against South Africa in Lucknow has also been preponed 24 hours and will now be played on Thursday, 12 October instead of Friday, 13 October. India’s last league game against the Netherlands has been shifted from November 11 to 12, a day-night affair to be played in Bengaluru.
